Frequently asked questions

Will Mom accept it?

Skip the feature list — speak to her in her terms. Try something like: "Mom, this is for you — it lets you stay home longer, and safer. Nothing to wear, nothing to press, nothing to remember. No camera, no microphone — your privacy isn't touched. It just quietly notices the small shifts — restless sleep, drifting bedtime — and we catch them together, before they turn into a hospital trip. And if something happens overnight, I'll know right away. I can call. I can come. I can get you help." Passive by design. You're not adding surveillance — you're staying close. She holds the off switch, always.

Does Lutso replace anything I have today?

No. Lutso is a wellbeing-data layer that complements what's already in place. Daytime caregivers keep doing the human care; pendants stay where they are. Lutso reads the slow shifts no visit or button can catch — fragmented sleep, drifting bedtimes, restlessness — days before they become the call.

What does Lutso actually "see"?

Patterns of presence and movement, via thermal sensing — never an image, never a voice. It can tell when she went to bed, how she slept, when she got up, whether she came back. You receive plain-text, timestamped events on your phone — never the underlying raw data.

How does it fit in my care budget?

$300/month. Less than one night of overnight care, less than a typical 8-hour daytime shift. No upfront hardware fees, no installer. Monthly subscription — cancel any month, return the device, owe nothing.

Can siblings and her doctor see this too?

Yes. Invite anyone in the family who should receive alerts — the more people connected, the less anyone's alone with the worry. You can share her weekly summary directly with her doctor from the app.

What happens in an emergency?

When a signal can't wait — out of bed at 2am and not back, no morning wake-up by 9 — Lutso pages everyone you've connected. You set the contacts and the response window during setup.

Does it need Wi-Fi or a smartphone?

No. Lutso has built-in 4G — no Wi-Fi configuration, no router setup. She doesn't need a smartphone, an account, or any tech of her own. The app is on your phone, not hers.

How hard is setup?

Plug it in, open the app — done. About 3 minutes. Plug and play: no installer, no setup wizard. The device pairs automatically the moment it's plugged in.

What will I actually see in the app?

Lutso reaches out — you don't have to check. When her pattern shifts off baseline — drifting bedtime, fragmenting sleep, more bathroom trips — you get a notification with what changed. If something can't wait at night — out of bed at 2am, no morning wake-up — you get an immediate alert. Beyond the notifications, the app shows her baseline, the 7-night view, and the patterns Lutso is watching. Most days, nothing to check. That's the point.
